About Clydon Vista, OTD, OTR/L

Why I'm a College Life Coach

You know, college can be a whirlwind. I spent 7 years in the thick of it, earning my bachelor's and doctorate degrees, believing I'd emerge ready to tackle life's curveballs. But the reality? Juggling stress, mental health, money matters, and a balanced school-life routine was tougher than I thought.

In hindsight, having a college life coach to guide me through this tumultuous phase would've been a game-changer. That's why I started this business - to be that helping hand for students and face real-life challenges together.

I'm here to help you carve out your unique path and navigate through this life-changing phase. Having seen the magic of coaching, from shy freshmen growing confident to lost students finding their passions, I know its power.

I'm a college life coach because I believe in you and these transformative years. Let's go.

My Philosophy & Core Values

Generosity goes beyond giving - it's a way of life. As your coach, I share my time, experience, and knowledge freely to guide you through college. I believe in creating an atmosphere of mutual generosity, where we can learn from each other.

Honesty is key in coaching. I'll always provide truthful feedback and guidance. In return, I encourage you to be honest with me, allowing us to build a trusting relationship for effective coaching.

Genuineness stands out in an often-filtered world. As your coach, I promise to be authentic in all interactions, sharing real experiences and insights. I encourage you to be genuine with me, as authenticity helps unlock true potential.

These values - generosity, honesty, and genuineness - are the bedrock of my coaching philosophy. They guide how I interact with each student, ensuring a supportive and empowering environment for you to thrive during your college years and beyond.

  • Licensed Occupational Therapist (OTR/L) in the state of Texas.

  • I have taken courses focused on mental health and Occupational Therapy (OT) Coaching, all geared toward assisting college students.

  • I've been active in the wider OT community, attending two national American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA) conferences in 2019 and 2022, where the focus was OT work in college settings.

  • For my Doctoral Project, I created a holistic program for a community college to address employment, finances, and life issues. The goal? Equip students with resources to tackle these challenges.

  • These experiences have enriched my knowledge and equipped me to provide more effective support in my coaching role.

About Me

  • I'm a homebody with an introverted nature, but don't be fooled, I can navigate social spaces just as comfortably when need be.

  • My interests are quite varied - from finding tranquility in yoga, adrenaline in video games, discipline in jiu-jitsu, and satisfaction in organizing & cleaning. Plus, I'm a dedicated Spurs fan (GO SPURS GO!) and love traveling.

  • I'm deeply influenced by my upbringing by Filipino immigrant parents, who instilled in me the values of hard work, resilience, and close-knit family ties.

  • School wasn't my cup of tea, but I gritted my teeth and made it through seven challenging years of higher education. Tough, but worth it.

  • Looking ahead, my personal goals are pretty clear. I'm aiming for financial independence, nurturing a healthy relationship, staying fit, and creating a successful business. It's all about balance and achieving personal fulfillment.

    Sincerely,

    Clydon Vista
